Stephen Biesinger
President
Stephen Biesinger brings a wealth of sales, merchandising, product development, global sourcing,
graphic and package design as well as international business experience to Global Sanitation Solutions.
Mr. Biesinger was most recently President of Biesinger Holdings for six years. His credentials also
include 12 years with DFS Group Ltd., a Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy subsidiary where he was a Vice
President. DFS Group Ltd is the largest travel retailer in the world with over 200 outlets in 15 Asia
Pacific rim countries. Mr. Biesinger grew up in New Zealand, has resided 18 years outside the US in
England and Germany and has worked extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Pacific. Prior to DFS,
he worked many years for both the May Department stores and Federated Department stores as buyer, store
manager, divisional merchandise manager, and regional merchandise manager. Mr. Biesinger was graduated
from Brigham Young University with a BA in Political Science. He attended Pepperdine University for
post graduate studies. He was trained as a counter intelligence officer and served as battalion S-2
in Germany with the US Army. Mr. Biesinger and his wife have five children. He enjoys scuba diving
and travel. He speaks fluent German.
Dennis B. Tenney, MBA
Vice President
Dennis Tenney brings an extraordinary array of domestic and international business and government
contacts to Global Sanitation Solutions. He has a strong background in management, marketing/sales
and regulatory affairs. Internationally, Mr. Tenney has worked with FMC Corporation, Beehive Machinery,
Nature’s Sunshine Products and numerous other firms expanding their businesses into Latin America,
Europe, Asia/Pacific and Africa. He has served as Vice President of Global Business Development and
as COO of Global Health International, a division of Nature’s Sunshine Products. Earlier in his career, Mr.
Tenney worked ten years in the financial services industry representing both Merrill Lynch and the
Equitable Companies. He is currently in his sixth term on the Sandy, Utah, City Council. He has
represented the U.S. National League of Cities, working with government officials throughout Latin
America. In his travels to more than fifty countries around the world, he enjoys serving as a “citizen
ambassador” of the United States. Mr. Tenney, was graduated from Brigham Young University and has
an MBA from the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management. He and his wife, Sandy
have four children and eight grandchildren. He has worked extensively with humanitarian organizations
to help the disadvantaged empower themselves and reach their individual potential. When not travelling,
he enjoys reading and quiet time with his family. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Michael L. Johnson, MMS
Director of Operations
Michael Johnson's managerial and administrative experience spans more than three decades and
crosses private, public, and military sectors. Armed with an undergraduate degree in Psychology,
Michael's first assignment as an officer in the U.S. Army was with the Armor Training Center at Ft.
Knox, Kentucky, where he discovered and developed a unique talent for communicating effectively with
individuals from all levels of society and varying educational backgrounds. After serving as a briefer
with the U.S. Army Security Agency (USASA) in Arlington, Virginia, he later left the military and formed
his first private enterprise. As President of a small manufacturing company, he guided that company
from initial start-up through the first two years of operations. Under Johnson's leadership, the company
captured approximately 60 percent of the primary market, and expanded into other compatible markets.
Having obtained a Master's Degree in Organizational Development, Mr. Johnson turned his education into a
new career as a civilian employee of the U.S. Army. He found great satisfaction in evaluating a wide
variety of operations for diverse organizations and helping them find and implement systems and processes
to increase organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Dave Stump, MNM
Chief Financial Officer
Dave Stump brings to Global Sanitation Solutions a track record of providing financial, process and IT
leadership during periods of organizational growth and change. Dave's financial experience has come from serving
as Vice President of Finance (8 yrs) and Controller (8 yrs) for the international headquarters of Children's
Miracle Network. He was part of a leadership team responsible for increasing annual fundraising from $89
million to $260 million during his tenure. His role in the nonprofit industry has allowed him to wear many
hats that have contributed to his overall business acumen. Dave currently serves as Treasurer on the board
of the Children's Medical Charities of America. Dave was graduated from Utah State University with a BA in
Finance and received his Masters in Nonprofit Management (MNM) from Regis University, graduating with honors.
Mr. Stump and his wife are the parents of three boys. He enjoys travel, photography and the outdoors.
He is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese.
Wayne Selph, MBA
Director of Marketing
Wayne Selph brings a wealth of advertising and marketing experience to Global Sanitation Solutions.
His credentials include several years with Ogilvy & Mather, one of the leading advertising agencies in the
world. As an Ogilvy account supervisor, he worked in New York, Houston and Sao Paulo, managing
advertising for Shell Oil, Avon, Lever Brothers and General Foods. From Ogilvy, he moved to St. Louis
where he managed national advertising for several Ralston-Purina brands. As marketing director for
Spartan Foods, one of the largest franchise-owned companies in the US, he was responsible for the
marketing of seven-hundred restaurants. He moved to Utah to work with Bonneville International as vice
president on that agency’s largest accounts – The LDS Church and the Boy Scouts of America. Later, he
began his own successful advertising and consulting firm, Wayne Selph Marketing. Over the years, his
clients have included top local, regional and national advertisers. Mr. Selph was graduated from Brigham
Young University and has an MBA from the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management.
He served in the US Navy. Mr. Selph and his wife, Yara have seven children. He enjoys family history,
travel, anything Brazilian and southern gospel music. He is fluent in Portuguese.
Kenneth S. Marsh, Ph.D., CPP
Director of Research & Development
Kenneth S. Marsh, Ph.D., has over 36 years of industrial packaging experience that he brings to Global
Sanitation Solutions. He was the first holder of the first endowed professorship in packaging science in
the U.S. His expertise includes applying physical chemistry to identify and control chemical reactions in
food and medical products to extend their usable life. He has developed computer models to predict
shelf life performance of foods and pharmaceuticals under various environmental and distribution
conditions. Dr. Marsh has lectured and consulted internationally to improve packaging, assure
compliance and promote international trade. He has been recently working to promote global food
security by improving food distribution through international cooperation of post harvest efforts. Dr.
Marsh served on the National Academy of Sciences, Institute of Medicine subcommittee to develop
High Density, Emergency Relief Rations. He is the co-editor of the Wiley Encyclopedia of Packaging
Technology, 2nd edition and co-editor of the Food Packaging section of the UNESCO Encyclopedia of
Life Support Systems. Dr. Marsh is a Fellow of the Institute of Packaging professionals (IoPP) and the
Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). He is a Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) through IoPP. He
represented the IFT at the “World Food Summit: five years later”, Rome, 2001, to further the goal to
reduce world hunger by 50% by the year 2015. His objective is to employ food technologies to increase
the delivered food supply, reduce food losses, and promote economic sustainability. His program was
presented at World Food Congresses X, XII and XIII in 1999, 2001 and 2006 respectively. Dr. Marsh
received his B.A. from Adelphi University, and his M.S., M.Ph., and Ph.D. degrees from Rutgers
University in the field of food science with a packaging specialty.
